Gloria and Seiji's Day 1+2
Hello Gnarly Narwhals, Snazzy Seastars, and parents!
We had a "fin"-tastic first few days at AquaCamps! Here are some of the things we did:
- learned about marine life on the Coast of BC and pinnipeds
- watched a walrus training session where we learned more about the research done at the aquarium
- went for a beach walk where we saw crabs, sea stars, jellyfish, and even a harbour seal!
- went behind-the-scenes where we got a tour of the fish lab
- performed an experimental design using sea urchins to test our hypothesis
- learned more about the sea otter's role as a keystone species and played otter-urchin-kelp
- touched sea stars, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, sea urchins in the wet lab!
Looking forward to another a-"ray"-zing day at AquaCamps!
