Hello! This week, I was surprised by how full of fin-tastic energy and enthusiasm all my campers had! I am really happy that I got to spend one week of Spring Break doing all sorts of otter-ly awesome activities with the campers, such as:
- exploring galleries
- outdoors Wild Coast: dolphin, sea lions, sea otters, penguins
- Amazon: sloths, bats, caiman, parrots, rays, monkeys, snakes
- Clownfish Cove: pretend-played as marine biologists and rescuers
- Tropics: sharks, sea horses, jellies, lionfish, clownfish, sea turtle
- Frogs: bullfrogs, toads, poison dart frogs
- BC Treasures Coast: salmon, skate, anemones, hagfish, sea stars
- watching the Dolphin Show
- learned why we train animals
- learned about how Interpreters train Helen the dolphin
- saw cool tricks performed by Helen
- making crafts
- CD fish
- Jellyfish
- squid-tentacles hat
- having a tour of jellies hallway

- Amazon staff brought a snake into Narwhal Room to show campers and share facts about the snake
- watching 4D Show: Sharks
- had 3D experience with water sprays, bubbles, chair vibrations, and blowing breezes
- beach walk
- saw sea stars, baby sea urchins, shore crabs
- touching animals in Wet Lab
- Sandy Shores: sand dollar, hermit crab, clam
- Rocky Outcrop: sea anemone, talked about the clam shells in the beer bottle
- Eelgrass Meadows: sea cucumber, sea star
This week has truly been an a-ray-zing week full of joy as we learn about the marine animals and the ocean. I hope everyone had a whale-ly good time and maybe I'll see you next time!
