Explore Canada’s North uses feeding strategies as an overarching theme. We begin seated around an Arctic map to brainstorm animals living in this region. Next, smaller groups rotate through four stations to investigate survival strategies and adaptations focusing on: scavengers, hunters, filter feeders, and animals that use tools. Some aspects of life for people in Canada’s North are also discussed.

We conclude around the map to review content and to illustrate and discuss consequences of changes to Arctic ice. Students then discuss changes they can make in their daily lives that could positively influence animals and people living in Canada’s North.
