Membership Beach Walk

Jul 5, 2019  13:45 - 15:30

Location:  Lumberman's Arch
Cost:  Free for Members of Vancouver Aquarium

Hold a sea star, get squirted by a clam and learn how to tell female and male crabs apart in this unique discovery-based, members-only learning opportunity. This members-only program provides you with a hands-on opportunity to explore the intertidal zone by searching for live aquatic animals at the beach, within walking distance of the Aquarium.

Guided by experienced, friendly and knowledgeable Aquarium staff and volunteers, you can discover the diversity of animals and plants that inhabit the intertidal zone. You'll also learn how best to respect these animals during future beach adventures.

NOTE: This program is conducted entirely outside. Please dress appropriately for spending time outdoors and at the beach (e.g. hats, sunscreen, jackets, beach appropriate footwear etc). Our work near the shoreline may result in wet feet! Wearing water-resistant shoes or rubber boots is highly recommended!

Kids age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Want to bring a friend? Consider a gift of membership this season and bring them along to this members-only event. Not a member? Join today to gain access to Beachwalks and many other benefits.
