Rian Hoyle, Goal A & Action - part 1

Environment   Nov 7, 2019 by Rian Hoyle

I have contacted the Edmonton mayor, Don Iveson, regarding Goal A as well as my riding's MP, Michael Cooper. I am waiting for a response from them but I will include the notes I sent to them in the meantime. I will post another blog when I hear from them.

Hello Mayor Iveson,

I am a student at Queen Elizabeth High School and apart of a nationwide project called Oceanwise. This year the project's focus is on biodiversity in Canada, and one of our assignments is to find out what communities are doing to support biodiversity and specifically Goal A: BY 2020, CANADA’S LANDS AND WATERS ARE PLANNED AND MANAGED USING AN ECOSYSTEM APPROACH TO SUPPORT BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION OUTCOMES AT LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL SCALES.

I am curious to find out what the city of Edmonton is doing to meet this goal and how we can promote the work in our schools and with peers. If you could let me know the plan Edmonton has regarding biodiversity I would be very grateful.

Thank You!

I am curious to find out what our government is doing to meet this goal and how we can promote the work in our schools and with peers. If you could let me know the plan the Canadian government has regarding biodiversity I would be very grateful.

Thank You!
