Science Literacy Week wraps up with the Ocean Wise Education team on Friday September 25. Our free live-stream program from 10 – 11am, dives into the fact that biodiversity and stewardship are inextricably linked. Ecosystems across the land have been cared for, monitored and changes observed for millennia by Indigenous Peoples. We will hear the creation story of the Musqueam People, one of the Coast Salish Peoples. Author and artist Melaney Gleeson Lyall from the Musqueam Nation will share her book: Animals of the Salish Sea with us, as we make connections between some of the animals highlighted in Animals of the Salish Sea and those animals in our Wet Lab at the Vancouver Aquarium, highlighting some of the amazing biodiversity of the animals living on our coast.
