NOAA Live! Webinar Series: Seeing the World Through a Sea Turtle’s Eyes

Date/Time: Wed, Dec 9, 2020 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM EST

With Samir Patel, NOAA Fisheries Northeast Fisheries Science Center in Woods Hole, MA

Sea turtles are considered living dinosaurs in that they have remained relatively unchanged for over 100 million years and yet continue to thrive in our world’s ocean. How are turtles able to do this? We use several camera techniques to film sea turtles as they swim through the ocean diving, foraging, and avoiding predators to understand how they are able to survive and thrive in their preferred habitats. The webinar will last about 45 minutes with moderated questions and answers throughout. This webinar will be recorded and posted afterward with English captions and Spanish subtitles. (Grades 2-8 but all ages will enjoy)

**American Sign Language will be provided live via a video remote interpreter during the webinar.
