Hello Otter Party parents!
Whale, whale, whale, today was our last day of camp, but we had an otterly amazing day!
We started off our day with a funny skit based on food chains that featured a hungry hagfish and our rainbow fish brother and sister, Hansel and Gretel, which was put on by our camp leaders. It had us "kraken" up!
Next, we went to the Treasures of the BC Coast gallery and found some of our favourite animals like Ceph the octopus who was happy to come out and play with us.
We went to a 4D movie called, "Sharks," which was very interesting.
We also did a herring dissection.
After having our lunches with Helen our Pacific White-sided dolphin, we made thank you cards for you (parents), for our camp leaders and volunteers, or even for some of the animals we got to meet along the way.
Then we went for a walk in the forest.
We finished off our day with the conclusion to our camp leader's skit. Hansel and Gretel managed to get away from the evil Hagfish!
Questions to ask your camper:
- What was their favourite animal from the BC coast? What did they learn about them?
- What was their favourite body part on the herring? What does that body part do, and how does it help the fish?
- What was their favourite part about camp, and what was the most interesting thing they learned?
Well, that is a wrap for us. We hope your camper had as much fun as we did this week. We hope to "sea" you soon! Good bye, otters!
