Photography Contest Submissions Due

WHO MAY ENTER THE CONTEST?
The contest is open to youth 15 to 19 years of age. There is a limit of one entry per person. However, if you would like to switch your entry you may submit a different photograph to be judged if you inform YouthToSea before the closing date.
WHEN DOES THE CONTEST START/END?
You may enter the contest between September 9th, 2019 and September 23rd, 2019.
HOW DO I ENTER THE CONTEST?
To enter the contest send an email to youthtosea@gmail.com or michelle.bienkowski@ocean.org during the submission period specifying your name, photograph title, small description of the image and how you heard about the contest.
The use of photoshop and filters are allowed if they aid in the visual appearance of the image and artistic vision of the artist.
Your artwork must embody or incorporate one of the following themes:
1. The ocean through my eyes
2. Favourite ocean memories
3. What the ocean means to me
4. Love letters to the ocean
In your description please let us know which theme you used as a prompt and how it is incorporated.
WHAT ARE THE CONTEST PRIZES?
Winner’s photographs will be displayed at the Vancouver Aquarium as well as on the YouthToSea social media accounts. The winner will also receive two (2) free entry tickets to the Vancouver Aquarium for a date of their choosing.
HOW WILL THE POTENTIAL WINNERS BE SELECTED?
After submission deadline all eligible entries received will be judged by a panel of judges including professional artists and photography specialists based on the following criteria: Creativity/Originality, Quality, and Relevance to the theme.
All submissions will also be available online for a public vote via Facebook/Instagram. The photos will be posted on the YouthToSea pages and the photograph with the most likes will be selected as the public vote winner.
The winners will be announced on September 30th, 2019
