Sea Turtle Conservation with Dr. Joe Pfaller

May 28th @ 2pm eastern

Dr. Joe Pfaller is a sea turtle biologist and the Research Director of the Caretta Research Project. Since the age of 15, he has spent the summer months studying and saving the sea turtles that nest on the coast of Georgia. Sea turtles spend their entire lives in the ocean, but mother sea turtles return to the beaches where they themselves hatched to lay eggs and start the next generation. This prehistoric ritual gives sea turtle biologists, like Joe, the opportunity to see adult turtles and monitor how their populations are changing. Joe will tell us about his research in Georgia and the threats that face sea turtles around the world.
