Taneil Uttal | The Changing Arctic (MOSAiC Arctic Expedition)
June 10th @ 12:00pm eastern
Taneil Uttal has been working with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for 40 years with the last 22 years being occupied with studies of the Arctic environment. She began her Arctic career more than 2 decades ago working on a year-long Arctic ice camp project called SHEBA. It has been particularly interesting for her to be able to participate in the MOSAiC expedition because of the changes that have occurred in the Arctic over the last 2 decades and she is thinking quite a bit these days about comparisons between SHEBA (old Arctic) and MOSAiC (new Arctic). In between these 2 ocean expeditions, Taneil has been leading a consortium called the International Arctic Systems for Observing the Atmosphere (IASOA). You can learn about the IASOA project at www.iasoa.org.
