Hello YELP!

Thank you for the week full of adventure and learning experiences! I had a blast, and hope that all of you did as well!

To finish off our week, we had an amazing experiential and service learning opportunity at the Marine Mammal Rescue Centre. We were able to help out directly with the care of the animals today! Our tasks at the Rescue Centre included scrubbing and disinfecting tubs, as well as spraying down the seals to keep them cool. Nikki from the MMRC volunteer team kindly lead us on our tour and directed our tasks there. After our time at MMRC, we spent the afternoon playing leadership games and activities. We got our energy out and got to know each other a little better! We finished off the day back at the Aquarium working on our Personal Mind Maps, adding our new connections and knowledge to them!

Questions to ask:

  • How can we continue to grow our leadership and involvement in environmental work?
  • Why should we do service in our communities? What motivates our volunteerism?

Thank you and hope to see you again!

-Jay
