DIVE IN continues its Sharktober celebration from the point of view of the underwater photographer and pictorial storyteller. Sylvia and Liz bring two very different and accomplished artists into the conversation to share their stories and images of exploring the ocean and capturing photos of sharks in their natural world.

They believe art can build widespread understanding of and engagement in the protection of the ocean and our planet. Great art exposes the beauty and plight of the ocean system, hopefully resulting in empathy and action. Artists like MIchael and Alex, along with previous DIVE IN guests Wyland and Amos Nachuom, accomplish this like few others.

Michael Aw is an award-winning wildlife explorer, photographer, conservationist and author of 37 books on the ocean. Alex Rose is a biologist, diver, musician, underwater photographer, and Explorers Club Fellow, as well as the founder of the ocean conservation organization Blue Ring, and co-founder of Chicago’s Wave Film Fest.

Please join us for this SHARKTOBER edition of DIVE IN as Sylvia and Liz converse with photographers Michael and Alex, who will share their lifelong journeys documenting these creatures, and talk about the increasing challenges of survival they face today.

“DIVE IN with Sylvia & Liz” is a casual, free-flowing, and educational conversation and encourages ocean enthusiasts of all ages to join and participate.

Sylvia, Liz, Michael and Alex will take questions via Q & A text and voice call-in from the attendees.
