Similar to COVID-19, extreme heat’s disease burden will fall disproportionately on the sick, older adults, people of color, and “essential workers”. “Successfully” and equitably adapting to extreme heat will require new regulations and behavioral adaptations in addition to commonly proposed technical solutions.
