In this seminar, we will discuss the issues around overfishing and how Ocean Wise Seafood’s recommendation standards seek to address these complex issues. After introducing some common fishing and aquaculture methods, we will focus on restorative/regenerative aquaculture species (bivalve shellfish, kelp, seaweed) and their benefits for the environment. Highlighting Choices Market as an Ocean Wise retail partner, we hope to empower consumers to choose Ocean Wise recommended and regenerative species where possible when purchasing seafood.
