About this event
Climate change and biodiversity loss are among the most pressing challenges facing the world today. British Columbians are worried about the future of our communities, which depend on nature for clean air, water, and food. Our federal leaders have set ambitious land, and ocean conservation goals, including support for Indigenous-led protected areas to help stem the nature emergency. But how close are they to meeting those targets?
CPAWS-BC, in collaboration with GreenPAC and Everyday Advocates, invites you to join three federal MPs for a Conversation on the Coast. Patrick Weiler, Terry Beech, and Jonathan Wilkinson will share on the progress being made for environmental protection locally and across Canada. The panel will focus on land and ocean conservation, species protection, nature-based solutions to climate change, and economic recovery.
Constituents from Burnaby to Bowen Island, Lillooet to Lonsdale, and Gambier Island to Garibaldi might be particularly eager to hear from their elected officials. And folks from right across the province can find out what the federal government is working on from Minister for Environment and Climate Change Jonathan Wilkinson and MPs Patrick Weiler and Terry Beech.
