Kassandra Churcher is originally from Montreal where her studies focused on ethics and education. Kassandra spent several years abroad working to develop curriculum and education policy in Ghana, Japan and South Korea before returning to Canada to begin her dissertation on culturally adapted curriculum at McGill University. During her doctoral residency at McGill University, she distinguished herself as a faculty lecturer at Concordia University in the areas of sex-role socialization, diversity in education, and philosophy of education with a focus on women’s contributions. She has dedicated the majority of her career to partnering with Indigenous communities to advocate and improve the access and quality of education services through her work as an education administrator and leader.

As a woman of colour, Ms. Churcher has made an intersectional feminist approach fundamental to her writing, advocacy, and work. She currently works and lives in Montreal where she works in creating supports and removing barriers in Inuit Post-Secondary Education. When she is not working, she enjoys sharing her ideas and thoughts through writing on a personal blog she maintains.
