Part of the work for the Robson Bight warden program with Cetus is to take vessel traffic and marine mammal data in our study area. From the vantage point on the cliff, also known as Eagle Eye, we monitor the Robson Bight Michael Biggs Ecological Reserve with telescopes and binoculars. We also give interpretive talks about orcas, the ecological reserve and the Be Whale Wise guidelines to hikers that come to West Cracroft Island.

Gorgeous. Lucky whales to have you watching out for them! Did you see any Dall's or Harbour Porpoises?

We saw lots of Dall's porpoises and once we even observed a family of Biggs, the T069s, (Transient orcas) hunt one right in front of us. There were also super pods (about 200-300) of Pacific white-sided dolphins, but we didn't see many Harbour porpoises.
