About Me

Cécile Tang (Chinese name 希西, pronounced “C-C”) is a youth, nature and wildlife advocate from France and China, based in Montréal. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology from McGill University, she moved to Europe and studied Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management in Hungary, Greece, the UK and Sweden (Erasmus Mundus MESPOM program). During her academic studies, her focus was on marine conservation, tropical ecology and Indigenous communities.

Passionate about youth engagement in intergovernmental environmental policy-making processes, she was the co-founder and co-director of Youth 4 Wildlife Conservation. In this role she led youth delegations in events such as the UN CITES Conference of the Parties, and the 2018 Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference. For the past five years, she has also advised various environmental non-profits on their youth engagement strategies. Currently, she works part-time as a Project Officer at the United Nations Association in Canada, supporting the association's New Diplomacy of Natural Resources programme.

Outside of work, Cécile enjoys exploring different countries, being outdoors, sharing meals and getting as much sunshine as possible.
