About Me

Hello! My name is Sara and I am located in Manitoba, a prairie province with our little coastal claim to fame - Hudson's Bay. I am so excited to be part of Direct Action working at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory.

I graduated university with a degree in Environmental Studies and I have a passion to help people make connections with nature so that they can grow an appreciation for it and in turn care for it. My previous area of research was on fish parasitology, on the SARA species the Carmine Shiner, at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. I have also worked in Education and Communications.

In my spare time I enjoy photography, exploring the outdoors, traveling, music, gardening, painting, and hanging out with my husband and my cats.
