About Me

Hi everyone! I'm Janelle, and I grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, but moved out to the B.C. coast to do my Bachelor's degree and loved it so much I did a Master's degree out here too! My love for the ocean was accelerated when I took a field course in Hawaii, and I have been on the path to a career in ocean conservation ever since. My Master's degree focused on vegetation distribution and change across brackish marshes. I hope to have a career in wetland vegetation restoration.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, road biking, gardening, and cooking. Like many people, I planted my first vegetable garden this year and have been pleasantly surprised by the results. I'm really excited for my placement with Parks Canada!
