Ocean Literacy Principle Session

• Ocean Wise will introduce the participants to the seven Ocean Literacy Principles. We will split into groups to review each principles, and identify the areas that we, as a group, believe were missed in our education.

Ocean Literacy Project Development

• Participants will use the ocean literacy principles to create an online resource for teachers, which can be used in the classroom to help fill in the gaps on ocean literacy. We will create tools to help spread the message of ocean conservation.

Intro to Salish Sea

• Ocean Wise will lead the group through an introduction to the Salish Sea, including various habitats and animals that make up this ecosystem. We will learn about the importance, uses, and threats facing our Salish Sea.
