Post-Journey Task
Description
Now that our journey has finished, we’ve put together a few ways that you can make the most of your experience by sharing it with others. Being an environmental leader in your community is easy as making a small personal change and sharing it with your friends to inspire them - Or take on a bigger role by actively doing outreach and action in your community.
OPTION 1: Personal Changes
Did this trip inspire you to make a personal change in your life to support ocean health? Tell us about it by writing a blog post that includes:
- What change did you make?
- What inspired you to make this change?
- What did you have to do to make the change?
- Has anybody given you negative/positive feedback on your change?
- How do you encourage others to make this change?
Send your blog post (with pictures of you) to youth@ocean.org by October 31st, 2019.
OPTION 2: Community Leaders
If you’re looking to inspire others to make a difference in ocean conservation – deliver your own ocean service outreach project. This might include, but is not limited to:
- Leading a shoreline/watershed cleanup in your community (https://www.shorelinecleanup.ca/youth)
- Lead a watershed walk with friends/family/community members
- Host a Plastic Free Week at your school
- Host a screening of an ocean conservation film
- Run a workshop on upcycling or create your own (shampoo bars, beeswax wraps, crayon candles)
- Run some ocean themed games/crafts with your local youth group
Send a short description of the event, with the date and how many people attended to youth@ocean.org by December 20th, 2019. Please also notify Michelle ASAP if this is the project you select, as she will be able to provide guidance, feedback and suggestions if required.
