Opportunities By Ocean Bridgers

Dear Ambassadors,

We are excited to announce that Ocean Bridge is collaborating with internationally renowned based artist and environmental activist: Ben Von Wong on his most recent art installation and associated campaign: The Giant Plastic Tap.  He’s gathered dozens of photoshop influencers with millions of followers that will come together to remix photos of a 3-story tall levitating faucet spewing plastics into different environments that he recently created (see photos). He will be promoting the competition with thousands of dollars of creative prizes to their followers to help spread the message further. A group of ocean and environment-focused NGOs including Ocean Wise, will be amplifying this message with a specific call to action for individuals to participate in Ocean Wise’s Plastic Waste Challenge.

We are still coordinating potential internal opportunities to support Ocean Wise with this initiative but Ben Von Wong is also looking for specific talents and competencies to support the project. This is a great means to fulfil your service and contribute to a global campaign. If you are interested and have demonstrable experience relevant to the below positions please e-mail Cyrielle Noël at (cyrielle.noel@ocean.org)  by Wednesday September 8^th 2021 (end-of-day) with:

• Creating content related to the campaign

•  Potentially creating a strategy and managing the day-to-day social media accounts to build awareness and interest around the Giant Plastic Tap campaigns and initiatives.

• Ideal for someone with an education background that could help Ocean Wise review information

Content Advisor(s)   

• A communications position focused on sorting relevant content and information

TikTok Creative(s) 

• Video creators to help produce content

Nous sommes fébriles d'annoncer que Portail Océan collabore avec l'artiste et militant écologiste de renommée internationale : Ben Von Wong sur son installation artistique la plus récente et sa campagne associée : The Giant Plastic Tap. Il va rassembler des influenceurs avec des millions d'abonnés qui se réuniront pour entreposer des photos d'un robinet à lévitation de trois étages qui projette des morceaux de plastiques dans différents environnements qu'il a récemment créés (voir photos). Il fera la promotion du avec des milliers de dollars en prix créatifs pour leurs abonnés afin d’aider à diffuser davantage le message. Un groupe d'organismes à but non-lucratif océanique et environnementaux, dont Ocean Wise, amplifiera ce message avec un appel à l'action spécifique à participer au défi des déchets plastiques d'Ocean Wise.

De manière régulière, nous coordonnons des opportunités internes potentielles pour soutenir Ocean Wise avec cette initiative, mais de son côté, en Von Wong recherche également des talents et des compétences spécifiques pour soutenir le projet. C'est un excellent moyen de rendre votre service et de contribuer à une campagne mondiale. Project Description

• Eastern Region Solid Waste Management is collaborating with the Town of Antigonish to host a community litter clean-up. The clean-up is registered through the Great Nova Scotia Pick-Me-Up Program. Help us make Antigonish more beautiful, clean, and healthy by participating in our community litter clean-up!

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Participants will meet at the rallying point to pick up materials such as gloves and garbage bags
• Specific instructions and safety tips will be provided at the rallying point prior to the start of the clean-up
• Data cards can be used by participants to record the types of litter items being found during the clean-up
• Take photos and post them to social media using the following hashtags: #GladToCleanUp #EveryLitterBitHelps

Commitment

• The rallying point is at the Antigonish Town Hall which is located at 274 Main Street in Antigonish NS. We will be set up out front by 9:30am on Saturday August 7. The clean-up is scheduled to take place from 10am to 12pm.
