A few weeks ago I hosted a Sustainability Week at my University, Carleton University, in Ottawa. We week hosted various events, including a documentary screening, an environmental policy debate, a zero-waste workshop, a Sustainable Business Innovation Jam, and a sustainable cooking workshop. The week after the campaign I also hosted a Sustainability Fair, for students that engaged with the campaign the week before to meet different on and off campus organizations working on sustainability related projects, that they could get involved with. There were 15 groups that tabled, ranging from clubs to non-profits to government departments, and several hundred students that stopped by the fair. One of the organizations, Ecology Ottawa, is currently collecting signatures to pressure Ottawa to run an electric bus trial for our public transit system. They were able to collect more than 1000 signatures throughout Sustainability Week and the Sustainability Fair. This is a photo of them talking to students and collecting signatures.
