This was Christmas morning, 2018, when I was living in Ghana and took a stroll along the beach which, as it always did, turned into a plastic cleanup. I found that swimming in the ocean where I lived in Cape Coast so disheartening because of how many plastic bags would brush up against my legs, and so I resorted to lots of beach walks to pick up trash instead!
