I took this photo 1 year ago today, during a popular tree planting event in my area that occurs around Earth Day every year. Over 2,000 native trees get planted by over 1,000 volunteers with smiling faces, even in knee deep mud like last year. In light of current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the event has been cancelled for 2020 and I am definitely missing it! Looking forward to planting more trees in the future when it is safe to do so.
