About Me
Hi everyone, my name is Katherine Fedoroff and I am born and raised a prairie girl in Saskatchewan; however, have always been fascinated by the ocean and the waterways of Canada. I have my bachelor of science in environmental biology where I did an honours research project on how selenium impacts fish’s anti-predator behaviour. I went on to do my Masters in biology where I focused on how boat noise impacts freshwater fish behaviour and physiology. This is where I continued my passion for conservation research and where I learned I am a really bad boat driver (thank goodness for my undergraduate assistants). When I am not pursuing my education goals, I enjoy being active, playing a variety of sports like basketball, slo-pitch and ultimate frisbee. I am also a professional photographer, enjoy volunteering for my local wildlife rehabilitation and am attempting to become better at fishing (fortunately for the fish, I am very bad at it; but enjoy being outdoors and near the water). I am excited to bring a freshwater perspective and the enthusiasm for ocean conservation even from a land locked province.
