Description
Volunteer for the Ocean Bridge Exhibition
The Ocean Bridge exhibition will showcase action projects and Direct Action placements from current participants and alumni.
Expectations
1. Sign up as an exhibitor using this form here
2. Provide the following resources by February 11th to Francesca.Marquez@ocean.org
a. Create a 1-minute video providing an overview of your action project/Direct Action placement
b. Provide any photos relevant to your action project/Direct action placement
c. Links and resources to learn more about your project (can be social media)
4. Attend a 30-minute Virtway training session between March 1-3
5. Be virtually present as your avatar during the exhibition to chat with other people about your action project. This will take place at 10:30-11:25am PT/ 1:30-2:25 ET on Saturday March 5th.
6. Attend a 30-minute debrief with the Ocean Bridge National Team after the National Youth Summit or provide written feedback.
*By participating as an exhibitor, you will be entered in a draw to win a Parks Canada pass/Landyachtz longboard and you will have a chance to be featured on the @oceanwiseyouth Instagram page
Host a reunion for your cohort
Reunion sessions will be hosted for each cohort during the day of the National Youth Summit on Saturday, March 5th, 2022 2:00-3:00PT / 5:00-6:00ET.
Expectations
1. Express interest in hosting a reunion session and send photos/ any other resources (blogs, videos, etc) from your learning journeys to francesca.marquez@ocean.org to build the reunion room by February 11th
2. Come up with some discussion questions during the reunion
3. Market the reunion via Facebook groups/ your own network. Ocean Bridge will create a poster for you to share by the first week of February.
4. Attend a Virtway training session week of Feb 21-25th. Fill in this doodle poll
5. Be present virtually to host the reunion session March 5th
a. All reunions (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) will be happening from 2:00-3:00PT/5:00-6:00ET
b. Direct action will be hosting a social event lead by staff.
*By participating in the alumni reunion, you will be entered to win a Landyachtz longboard! There will be one winner per year/cohort.
