Last year, I volunteered for the Shoreline Cleanup at Rouge National Urban Park in the beach area. It was a warm, sunny day and I spent lots of time with like-minded friends near the water. After collecting over 300lbs of trash as a group, I got to know Da a bit better who introduced me to the Ocean Wise program as well as the Pristine Blue initiative at UTSC. This was an important event that led me to where I am today!
