First time up North

This was my first time up north doing research in Cambridge Bay Nunavut. Someone forgot the drill attachment for the sea ice core barrel.... ended up doing everything by hand! This kept me warm for sure when we started at the end of April with temperatures around -30°C.

Haha that's so cool! How do you decide where to drill for a core?
